Early Detection and Intervention for Children with Learning Disabilities


Our educational initiative advocates early and individual attention for every student so that subtle problems that have the potential of becoming serious learning issues are discovered and treated before turning into handicaps that effect a child’s intellectual growth and development.

Our underlying philosophy rests on the belief that by recognizing a child’s strengths, needs and weaknesses, and by understanding how each child acquires knowledge, a teacher can improve her students’ educational performance. She can help them draw on natural strengths to encourage self-motivation which, in turn, enables children to acquire sound educational, communication and social skills and boosts their self-esteem, helping them to reach higher academic goals.

We are presently running a pilot in the first grade of an integrated, religious public school in Jerusalem. After a year of careful documentation and evaluation, we will create a model for mainstreaming that can be adopted by additional grades and other schools. We will also offer professional support and become an educational resource for parents and educators alike.
